Homeowners Take in Boarders
There was an interesting article in the New York Times yesterday covering how more people are starting to turn to boarders to lower the cost of living.
HomeShare Vermont, and hundreds of other programs, help connect these house-owners and boarders. They screen and background check both sides for compatibility and safety. Though the concept isn't new, it's neat to see more people taking advantage of this opportunity. Overall, it seems to benefit both sides in our ailing economy, and it's great that people are working together.
