Stephen Von Worley, a self described 'scientist and artist', released today an intriguing infographic of population shifts across the US. Stephen writes "whether by birth, storm, or interest-only loan, our nation’s population is perpetually shifting – from neighborhood to neighborhood and state to state". His maps reveal expanding suburban sprawl away from most metropolitan centers. At HotPads, we've actually been seeing similar trends through HotSpots, our price and location visualization tool.
Stephen's map is color-coded by population data collected from 2000 to 2010, with blue indicating areas where population has doubled and red representing areas where the population has shrunk. To see similar trends in housing prices, check out these five states with our HotSpots visualization tool.
