This week we took a closer look at the more than half a million rentals listed on HotPads. We were interested to see how the national price trends compared with this time last year. Below you can find all the rental data sorted by number of bedrooms.
Overall, we found that rent prices have increased by 6.7 percent. Studio and five bedroom rentals experienced the most noticeable price hike, 14.3 and 12.1 percent respectively.
The data in the graphs below was calculated based on the median listing price of 500,000 rentals on HotPads across all major U.S. metro areas. Take a look!

What bad timing to have such an increase in rents. It's surprising to see such a huge increase rent for studios as well.
