Quality photos are one of the most important attributes of successful real estate listings. Home shoppers expect to see a thorough overview of the property before committing to further engagement. It's therefore not a surprise that a typical HotPads listing contains about 20 photos - that's almost 100 million photos across the whole site.
These 100 million photos are a combination of unique content uploaded directly to HotPads and photos of listings syndicated to us from partner sites. Overall, these photos represent one of the largest home photo resources online. As people come across interesting listings and photos, they often choose to share the content through Facebook, Pinterest, and Twitter.
In an effort to help visitors organize and share inspiring content, we recently added Pinterest and Facebook sharing buttons to all 100 million photos across the site. Combined with our new "favorites" tab, we think home shoppers and home design enthusiasts will now have a much easier experience finding, saving, and sharing their favorite discoveries from HotPads.
We also set up a few of our own Pinterest boards to keep track of unique designs, decorations, and architecture we stumble across throughout the day. If you are on Pinterest, we hope you stop by and check out our recent finds!
